WWHHYYYYYY???

I had originally intended to post an update on Samson's bum knee, but Abby presented me with a more upbeat topic:

"Why???" I ask. "MOMITWASSOMUCHFUN!" Abby says in answer.

She got a serious bath afterwards. It was so hard to lather up her fur with all of that gritty mud in it. It took almost a whole bottle of dog shampoo! Thankfully she's all clean now.

As for Samson, we think that we're starting to see some improvement in his walking. He's using his right leg to scratch more often now, so hopefully that counts. He still has a very prominent limp, but we think it might be getting a little bit better.

  1. Oh man... I SO feel you, pal. We've found a magical thing about pyrs is that they roll in mud every time it rains, but the next day they're snow white again. No baths. Ever. Magic. I don't know how they do it.

We've found that putting cayenne pepper on the holes keeps them from digging that particular hole again... But they just dig one somewhere else. Yay.

  2. It's definitely magical. They shed so much that it's considered a self-cleaning coat. She stays inside, though, so we couldn't really wait 24 hours for it to clean itself.

As for making her not dig, it's actually been a really long time since she's done it. I guess she was just saving it all up for this big hu-rah. I think it's the dirtiest we've ever seen her!

I'll try the pepper once the hole dries up a bit, though. It's totally a pond right now. lol
